About
Jared E. Davis is a composer, guitarist, and teacher from Irvine, California. As a self-taught guitarist, he began performing and composing at the age of 16 with his own original band. After completing his service in the U.S. Navy, he was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he earned his BM in Guitar Performance in 2019. While studying performance, he quickly realized that his true passion was composition, and in 2021, he received his MM in Music Composition from Texas State University.
Currently, Jared resides in San Antonio, Texas, where he works for UTSA's School of Music and has authored three books: Chromatic Ladders, Music Theory for Fretboarders, and Atonal Improvisation and Jazz. He has premiered new works with SMART Orchestra, Unheard-of Ensemble, San Antonio Ambient Orchestra, and Bent Wrench Ensemble, and he regularly performs and lectures with Kevin Metzger as part of their duo, the Atonal Guitar Duo.
